Volvo Trucks is launching a new generation of electric trucks designed for long-haul operations. The highlight is the Volvo FH Aero Electric, boasting a range of up to 435 miles (700 km), made possible by an integrated e-axle that frees up space for additional batteries. Thanks to MCS (Megawatt Charging System) technology, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in about 50 minutes—perfectly timed for mandatory driver rest periods.
In tandem, the FH, FM, and FMX Electric series have been further enhanced, now reaching ranges of up to 292 miles (470 km). A new powertrain featuring a flexible Power Take-Off (PTO) allows specialized bodies, such as concrete mixers, to operate without auxiliary engines. All models feature an optimized I-Shift transmission for efficient power delivery. Orders will open in summer 2026.

Daimler Buses is introducing the Mercedes-Benz Conecto to Germany, expanding its city bus portfolio alongside the Citaro. This low-floor bus is designed for simpler operational profiles, such as school transport or fleet replacement needs. It is available as a 40-foot (12-meter) solo bus (including a hybrid version) and as an articulated bus.
The Conecto is powered by efficient Euro VI diesel engines with up to 360 hp (265 kW) and is produced through a partnership with Otokar in Turkey. The market launch in Germany is scheduled for mid-2027.

Gotion and its partners are launching a Europe-Africa logistics corridor to electrify heavy-duty freight. The approximately 1,240-mile (2,000 km) route connects Agadir, Tangier, and Perpignan—a vital trade axis currently traveled by roughly 2,000 trucks daily.
In the initial phase, 100 electric trucks will be deployed. To manage this, Gotion, Green Power Morocco, and Chery Heavy Trucks are planning a joint venture to oversee fleet operations, infrastructure, and digital management. The project centers on battery-swapping solutions, standardized battery systems, and an integrated ecosystem of charging infrastructure, energy storage, and logistics software. The goal is to create a scalable model for low-emission transport corridors.

Colruyt Group has launched an autonomous delivery pilot project in Leuven under its Collect&Go brand. Starting in May 2026, an all-electric, driverless vehicle will begin delivering groceries to households on public roads without fixed routes for the first time.
The project utilizes the compact Clevon 1 delivery robot, which can carry two orders simultaneously and automatically returns to the depot after delivery. The vehicle is managed via Telenet’s 5G network, featuring real-time monitoring and optional remote control. Sensors, cameras, and radar ensure safety at speeds of up to 15 mph (25 km/h). This project is considered a major step forward for autonomous last-mile logistics in urban areas.

Vienna-based startup kW-Solutions is debuting "Charge with Friends," a platform for shared charging infrastructure in the e-truck sector. The goal is to improve the utilization of depot charging points, reduce costs, and accelerate the electrification of the transport industry.
The platform allows companies to open their charging points to other fleets while accessing additional locations in return. This enables firms to monetize idle capacity, while users benefit from lower charging rates (approx. 30–40 cents/kWh). The platform integrates search, booking, and billing, creating a transparent and flexible network. Early partners have already begun contributing infrastructure to build this shared charging ecosystem for heavy-duty transport.
