Daimler Buses is expanding its lineup in Germany by introducing the Mercedes-Benz Conecto. This Turkish-built low-floor bus will complement the Citaro series, specifically targeting operators with straightforward, functional requirements. While the Conecto has been a staple in numerous European markets for years, its role in Germany will be to serve simpler segments such as school transport, fleet replacements, and standard urban applications.

While the Conecto has been a staple in numerous European markets for years, its role in Germany will be to serve simpler segments such as school transport, fleet replacements, and standard urban applications.

The vehicle is available as a 40-foot (12-meter) solo bus—including a fuel-efficient hybrid version—as well as an articulated bus, covering the most common demands of urban transit.
The solo bus is powered by the 7.7-liter Mercedes-Benz OM 936 inline-six diesel engine, delivering 299 hp (220 kW) and 885 lb-ft (1200 Nm) of torque. This engine, which meets Euro 6 E emission standards, is also available as a fuel-saving hybrid featuring 48V mild-hybrid technology. The articulated Conecto G model is driven by the larger 10.7-liter OM 470 Euro VI diesel engine, producing 360 hp (265 kW) and 1,254 lb-ft (1700 Nm) of torque.
The Conecto is manufactured through a partnership with the Turkish bus manufacturer Otokar. Under this agreement, Daimler Buses supplies all essential components and specialized production equipment directly to Otokar’s state-of-the-art facility. Additionally, a dedicated team from Daimler Buses provides on-site production support. Deliveries for the German market are scheduled to begin in mid-2027.
