DAF Trucks is significantly expanding its lineup of battery-electric vehicles. Joining the established XD, XF, XG, and XG+ Electric models, the manufacturer is now launching additional configurations including 6x2, 6x4, and 8x4 axle layouts.
Previously, DAF primarily offered its fully electric trucks as 4x2 tractors or 4x2 straight trucks. With these new variants, customers can now order 6x2 tractors with steered pusher or tag axles, as well as 6x4 and 8x4 chassis for heavy-duty hauling. These axle configurations are specifically designed for construction and specialized applications that require superior traction, higher payloads, or specific body requirements.
The new electric chassis are available across several model lines, including the XD Electric and the XF Electric—the latter of which was recently named "2026 International Truck of the Year." Also included are the XG and XG+ Electric models, which prioritize driver comfort and range with their ultra-spacious cabs. This expanded range allows DAF to offer tailored electric solutions for virtually every industry, from regional distribution to demanding job-site operations.

Key Examples:
6x2 models with a steered rear axle provide enhanced maneuverability and reduced tire and energy wear.
6x4 and 8x4 variants with tandem drive axles are engineered for maximum traction and payload capacity, making them ideal for concrete mixers or dump trucks in the construction sector.
DAF manufactures its electric trucks at its facility in Eindhoven, Netherlands, where all variants—including these new axle configurations—are produced.
