At this year's IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, taking place from September 15 to 20 in Hannover, you will not only have the opportunity to present your latest vehicle innovations, but visitors will also have the chance to test them.
With the IAA Test Drives, we offer exhibitors the opportunity to offer accompanied Test Drives with the latest zero-emission light and heavy commercial vehicles of all classes, as well as buses, on the exhibition grounds or on public roads – regardless of whether they are prototypes or production models. All Test Drives start and end at the indoor departure terminal.
Exhibitors can choose between two different route options.
The route options at a glance:
An approximately 2 km-long secured test track in the eastern part of the exhibition grounds. Prototypes can also participate here. (Prerequisite is documented insurance coverage)

Production vehicles with street legal status can exit the exhibition grounds through Gate South 1 West and use public roads for test drives. It's the exhibitor's right to decide on the length and duration of each ride.

Your Options
Enable interested visitors to experience the latest vehicle innovations on site under real road conditions and inspire them with lasting enthusiasm. All vehicle types presented at the trade fair are approved for accompanied Test Drives.
All vehicle types start at the indoor departure terminal. This will be located either in Hall 11 or in Halls 14/15. The final location will be decided in the first quarter of 2026.
For Test Drives, you can choose either the approximately 2 km long test track on the grounds or public roads.
Your Booking
As a provider of IAA Test Drives with trucks, light commercial vehicles, and/or buses, you can book one of our modern, uniformly designed indoor registration areas, including basic equipment and partial brand placement on containers and counters. In addition you can book an indoor parking space for your selected test vehicle.
The vehicles are located in adjacent parking areas, from where the accompanied test drives begin after the vehicle briefing has been completed. The vehicles remain in the hall overnight and can be charged if necessary.
