With 1,589 exhibitors from 46 countries, this year’s IAA TRANSPORTATION reached a new record high in international participation. The number of participating countries grew once again compared to the 2024 event. Among international exhibitors, companies from China, Turkey, and Italy turned out in especially high numbers this year.
In total, IAA TRANSPORTATION hosted more than 150 world premieres alongside other industry innovations. This year, over 113,000 professional visitors traveled to Hanover on weekdays, marking a slight increase over IAA 2024. The share of international professional visitors hit a record-breaking 40 percent, compared to 34 percent in 2024, with the largest delegations hailing from the Netherlands, China, and Poland. All told, more than 140,000 visitors made their way to Hanover this year.
IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 also garnered broad media coverage. Nearly 1,400 journalists from 50 countries were on-site to report on the commercial vehicle industry's latest developments and innovations. Every second journalist came from abroad, and exhibitors hosted a total of more than 110 press conferences. International outlets from 125 countries made up a major portion of the overall coverage.
The Test Drive offerings were once again a major highlight at IAA TRANSPORTATION. A total of 84 vehicles from 17 renowned exhibitors were available for test drives this year. Compared to 2024, when 60 vehicles were offered, the available lineup grew by 40 percent to set a new record. In all, 8,500 test drives were conducted during the event—a 32.5 percent jump over 2024.

Einride has announced a strategic partnership with NVIDIA to accelerate the development of autonomous heavy-duty trucks. At the core of the collaboration is adapting the NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion platform to meet the demands of heavy freight transport. Through this effort, Einride aims to scale up driverless deployments, particularly on highways and in suburban areas.
Going forward, the Einride Driver autonomous driving system will be built on Hyperion. The two companies are co-developing the computing, sensor, software, and safety architecture. In addition, Einride is leveraging NVIDIA Halos and the Blackwell architecture for AI training. NVIDIA Cosmos will be used to complement real-world driving data with synthetic scenarios, making it easier to train and validate rare and complex driving situations.
Einride will remain responsible for developing and integrating the driving system, as well as handling safety validation, regulatory approvals, and customer deployments. The company reports that it already operates several hundred electric trucks across the US, Europe, and the Middle East, with plans to expand its fleet to between 1,500 and 2,000 vehicles by 2028.

QUANTRON and Chinese tech firm HyperView have agreed to set up a joint venture called QUANTRON China, headquartered in Shaoxing. Together, the partners plan to develop and internationally market battery-electric and hydrogen-powered trucks and buses. Foxconn is slated to serve as the industrial manufacturing partner. The goal is to have an initial fleet of 100 vehicles in operation with European customers by the end of 2026.
The main focus is the new Gen2 commercial vehicle platform, which supports both electric and hydrogen powertrains. Plans include a redesigned cab, improved aerodynamics, smart connectivity, and digital fleet features. HyperView contributes key expertise in autonomous driving functions and intelligent vehicle architectures. These first 100 vehicles will also collect real-world operational data to help drive further platform development.
The Gen2 vehicle lineup is scheduled to make its world debut in the first half of 2027. Foxconn is expected to support the setup of an internationally scalable SKD manufacturing process and supply chain. Long term, the partners aim to turn Shaoxing into a hub for zero-emission and autonomous commercial vehicles, with a planned ecosystem capable of supporting over 100,000 vehicles globally within ten years.
