QUANTRON and HyperView Establish Joint Venture in China – Foxconn to Handle Manufacturing

QUANTRON and the Chinese technology company HyperView have agreed to establish the joint venture QUANTRON China. With Foxconn as their industrial manufacturing partner, the companies plan to develop and internationally market battery-electric and hydrogen-powered trucks and buses. An initial fleet of 100 vehicles is slated to go into operation with European customers by the end of 2026. The world premiere of the new Gen2 vehicle generation is scheduled for the first half of 2027.

Shared Platform for Electric and Hydrogen Commercial Vehicles
Headquartered in Shaoxing, China, the joint venture is designed to combine QUANTRON's vehicle development and international market experience with HyperView's technological expertise. The Chinese company brings key know-how in autonomous driving, intelligent vehicle architectures, and digital systems to the partnership.
The collaboration focuses on the new Gen2 commercial vehicle platform, which will serve as the foundation for battery-electric and hydrogen-powered trucks and buses.
Plans include a new generation of vehicles featuring a redesigned cab, improved aerodynamics, smart connectivity, and digital fleet features. In addition, the architecture is set to create the technical groundwork for future autonomous driving capabilities.
These vehicles are intended to serve as a validation fleet for the next vehicle generation under real-world operating conditions. Through this deployment, the companies aim to collect operating data, customer feedback, and information on energy consumption, uptime, and performance, integrating these insights into the final development of the Gen2 platform.
According to company reports, HyperView has already delivered a high three-digit number of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles, primarily in China, with initial vehicles also operating in Saudi Arabia.
Foxconn is slated to act as the manufacturing partner for the industrial production of the new truck and bus platforms. The electronics manufacturer will contribute its production expertise and capacities. With this setup, QUANTRON China aims to establish internationally scalable SKD (semi-knocked-down) manufacturing, an industrialized supply chain, and competitive production costs.
In the long term, the partners aim to establish Shaoxing as an international hub for zero-emission commercial vehicles, smart vehicle technologies, and autonomous transport solutions. The planned ecosystem is intended to support more than 100,000 zero-emission commercial vehicles worldwide over the next ten years.
