With roughly six months until the start of the 2026 show, we have launched the second season of the official IAA TRANSPORTATION Podcast. Listeners can now get a comprehensive look at the trends and developments shaping the transport and logistics industry directly from the experts. The series will explore various facets of IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, which will be held at the Hannover Fairgrounds from September 15–20, 2026.

In the season premiere, we welcome Jürgen Mindel, Managing Director of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Together, we take an exclusive look at the upcoming event in Hannover and the core issues that will define the industry over the next several years.

IVECO has introduced the first eDaily equipped with an inductive charging solution. Capable of receiving power wirelessly while stationary or in motion (Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer - DWPT), this vehicle marks a significant step toward automated charging in the commercial sector.

This modified eDaily will initially be deployed by the highway operator Brebemi on the route between Milan and Brescia. Based on the 42C Crew Van with a double cab, the vehicle was specifically adapted to interface with the existing inductive infrastructure. This project builds on earlier initiatives like the "Arena del Futuro," where wireless charging was tested in real-world conditions.

MAN Truck & Bus is investing approximately $325 million (300 million euros) through 2030 to expand and modernize its European service network. The goal is to ensure that 80% of customers can reach a service location within 30 minutes.

The investment focuses on core markets such as Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, along with France, the UK, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Turkey. New locations will be established particularly in regions with high logistics density. Currently, the network includes 1,200 locations across Europe; by 2026, two-thirds of these sites are expected to be fully "EV-ready." One-third of the total investment is dedicated specifically to e-mobility and digitalization.

Aral Pulse has put the first megawatt charging parks for electric trucks into regular operation on German highways, accelerating the electrification of heavy-duty transport. New sites are now live in locations including Schwarmstedt, Hannover, Schnaittach, Rastow, and Königs Wusterhausen.

The parks utilize a hybrid concept: the Megawatt Charging System (MCS), offering capacities up to 1 MW, combined with standard High-Power Chargers (HPC). This setup accommodates different generations of electric trucks and various operational needs. Designed specifically for heavy-duty logistics, the parks feature pull-through charging bays for long tractor-trailers and up to six charging points per location.
