Milence has opened its first truck charging hub in Sweden, located in Varberg. This hub is the first of ten planned charging sites in Sweden. The charging park offers a comfortable environment for drivers, including a lounge area, showers, and restrooms. The parking area is fenced, equipped with access control, lighting, camera surveillance, and Wi-Fi. Milence has previously opened charging parks in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, with the first two in Germany expected later this year. Milence aims to establish 70 truck charging parks across Europe by the end of 2025.

Vianeo and APRR have officially launched the first truck charging corridor between Paris and Lyon, with charging stations approximately every 150 kilometers. The corridor includes five rest stops where trucks can be charged with up to 480 kW of power. This corridor is part of a broader initiative by Vianeo to expand heavy-duty vehicle charging infrastructure in Europe, with plans to open 11 more sites next year. Vianeo aims to have 12,000 charging points for electric cars and trucks across France by 2025.

Fuel cell truck manufacturer Hyzon commenced production of its new 200-kW fuel cell stack. The system promises a 20% increase in range per kilogram of hydrogen while reducing volume, weight, and costs by approximately 25% compared to previous models. Hyzon plans to scale production by the end of 2024 and deploy the new fuel cells in both new vehicles and retrofits for older diesel trucks.

Austrian manufacturer Rosenbauer has announced the launch of its electric airport fire truck, the Panther 6x6 Electric. The vehicle is powered by a 700-kW drivetrain and a 130-kWh battery, enabling fast charging and zero-emissions operation. Additionally, the truck is equipped with a diesel generator as a range extender, providing the necessary flexibility and operational readiness in emergency situations.

Contract manufacturer Foxconn has unveiled reference designs for future electric models, including the luxury electric van Model D, the medium-sized electric bus Model U, and a new version of the electric SUV Model C, targeting North American market. The Model C is a family SUV reference design that has been offered since 2021. These reference designs showcase what is feasible with Foxconn’s MIH platform, which allows automakers to approach Foxconn and customize their own models based on these designs. The modular platform enables flexible combinations of hardware modules and provides the foundation for modern electric vehicles with a software-defined E/E architecture.

British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis (ADL) has released additional details about the new version of its fully electric city bus, the Enviro200EV. Designed for urban use, the bus will be available in multiple lengths, ranging from 9.9 to 11.7 meters. A 400-kWh CATL battery provides extended range and improved energy efficiency. ADL has also updated the interior and promises increased passenger capacity. Initial orders from companies like Stagecoach reflect the growing interest in emissions-free public transport solutions.
