He explained how AI systems can analyze and control vehicle behavior in complex traffic situations, enabling autonomous vehicles to navigate safely and efficiently on the roads.
One presentation explored how European electric truck production can remain competitive. Speakers addressed challenges related to scaling up production, such as supply chain issues, production capacities, and the integration of innovative technologies. Another talk focused on the practical needs of freight forwarders in a changing transport landscape, with discussions on topics like digitalization, optimized supply chains, and the adoption of electric vehicles.

ETM Awards and Cargobike of the Year Awards Presented
Two significant awards, the ETM Award and the Cargobike of the Year Award, were presented. After an exciting test on the new cargo bike course at IAA TRANSPORTATION in Hanover, manufacturers Mubea with the Cargo Pack, Super Bicycles Super Mighty, and e2trail Lifter won the "International Cargobike of the Year 2024" prizes. The jury concluded that the winners had opened up new possibilities for cargo bike logistics in their respective categories. The Super Mighty brought affordability to the lightweight class, combined with durability, easy handling, and flexibility. The e2trail, designed to industrial standards and equipped with strong electric assistance, enables pallet and general cargo transport by bike. Mubea’s quad transported automotive quality with refined handling and high practicality to the top-tier category.
The ETM Award covered a broad spectrum of the industry, with a total of 16 vehicle categories and an additional 16 categories for best brands. The award included current commercial vehicles as well as supplier and service solutions. For the first time this year, groundbreaking innovations from sectors like IT were also included. Industry companies could nominate their models, products, and brands across 24 categories.
