Volvo Trucks Showcases New Drivelines and Truck Generations at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026

At IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 in Hanover, Volvo Trucks is presenting new and enhanced trucks, driveline solutions, and services. The highlight of the showcase is technology for battery-electric, gas-powered, diesel-based, and hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles designed to support transport companies on their decarbonization journey. 

Volvo Trucks is displaying a total of eight vehicles at its booth, with an additional seven trucks available for visitors to test-drive.

Test Drives with Electric, Diesel, and Hydrogen Trucks

A major focus of the showcase is the test drives starting directly from the booth. For the first time, visitors can test-drive the new Volvo FH Aero Electric with a range of up to 435 miles (700 kilometers). Also available for test-drives are a Volvo FH Aero powered by the new D13 diesel engine and a gas-powered Volvo FH Aero. 

In addition, Volvo is offering a preview of a hydrogen-powered truck with an internal combustion engine, which the company states is scheduled for market launch before 2030.

Broad Portfolio for Various Drivelines

Volvo Trucks continues to follow a technology-open approach, presenting solutions for various operational profiles. Alongside battery-electric vehicles, the lineup includes gas-powered and diesel-based powertrains, as well as future hydrogen solutions. 

Vehicles on display include the extended-range Volvo FH Aero Electric, the Volvo FH Aero, the gas-powered Volvo FH Aero, the Volvo FH16 Aero, the Volvo FH Electric, the Volvo FM Electric, the Volvo FL Electric, and the Volvo VNL developed for the North American market. Available for test-drives are the Volvo FH Aero test truck with a hydrogen combustion engine, two extended-range Volvo FH Aero Electric trucks, the Volvo FH Aero with the new D13 engine, the gas-powered Volvo FH Aero, the Volvo FM Electric, and the Volvo FL 4x4 crew cab.

Focus on Services and Fleet Solutions 

In addition to the vehicles, Volvo Trucks is introducing comprehensive services for vehicle operations. These include consulting on selecting the right driveline concept, service contracts, digital uptime services, financing options, and support for building charging and refueling infrastructure, as well as managing mixed fleets. According to the manufacturer, its service network encompasses more than 2,500 certified workshops and dealerships.
