Nissan Interstar-e Transformed into an All-Electric Camper Van

Nissan and camper van outfitter Eifelland have unveiled an all-electric camper based on the Interstar-e. The Eifelland Relax combines a battery-electric powertrain with fully equipped camper features, catering particularly to travelers looking for a relatively compact van with plenty of storage space for sports and leisure gear.

Up to 410 Kilometers (255 Miles) of Range
The base vehicle is the all-electric Nissan Interstar-e, equipped with an 87 kWh battery. Nissan states a WLTP range of up to 410 kilometers (approximately 255 miles) for the base vehicle. At DC fast-charging stations, the battery can charge at up to 130 kW. For AC charging, a 22 kW onboard charger comes standard.
The electric motor delivers 105 kW (143 hp) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. Nissan has not released figures for the fully converted camper’s real-world range.
Fixed Bed, Kitchen, and Nearly 2.6 Cubic Meters of Storage
Inside, the Eifelland Relax features a built-in fixed bed with a slatted frame and mattress. The sleeping area measures roughly 1.90 by 1.60 meters (about 6.2 by 5.2 feet). It also includes a kitchenette complete with a 90-liter refrigerator, an induction cooktop, and a sink. The interior finish is crafted from real wood and includes extra overhead cabinets above the kitchen and bed.
In total, nearly 2.6 cubic meters (92 cu ft) of storage space are available. With a curb weight of 3,065 kilograms (6,757 lbs) and a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 3,500 kilograms (7,716 lbs), the maximum payload capacity is 435 kilograms (959 lbs).
Flexible Seating for Up to Four People
Eifelland designed the camper as a four-seater. In addition to the driver and front passenger seats, there are two additional individual seats. These can be removed and repositioned throughout the passenger compartment. When traveling as a couple, for instance, this frees up extra space in the kitchen area.
A stand-out feature is how the standard Truma Eezy auxiliary heater is powered. Using the Interstar-e’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, it draws electricity directly from the high-voltage battery. This allows the cabin to be heated even without a shore power connection.
Driver Assistance Systems for Long Trips
Based on the N-Connecta trim level, standard equipment includes automatic climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless smartphone charging pad. A rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, and 360-degree side protection are designed to make maneuvering the camper easier.
The van also comes with a range of driver assistance systems, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, driver drowsiness detection, lane keep assist, and crosswind assist.
