Top Honors for the Scania L-Series
The Scania L-Series—tested in a 6×2 rigid chassis configuration equipped with a refuse body—earned not only five stars but also the additional CitySafe accreditation. The evaluation particularly highlighted its effective driver assistance systems and superior visibility provided by the low-entry cab, which is critical for urban environments with high pedestrian and cyclist density. Euro NCAP also praised its collision avoidance and driver-assist features, which were instrumental in securing the overall top score.

Volvo FH: Continuing a Winning Streak
The Volvo FH once again secured five stars in the Euro NCAP safety rankings and was also honored with the CitySafe award. This adds to Volvo’s growing list of top-rated models; previous test cycles saw the Volvo FH Aero and Volvo FM also achieve maximum ratings. The five-star score represents exceptional performance in driver support, collision avoidance, and active safety systems designed to better protect pedestrians and cyclists.

Other Results in the Field
Beyond the standout performances from Scania and Volvo, the Ford F-MAX landed in the middle of the pack with a three-star rating. Euro NCAP noted its camera monitoring system as a highlight but pointed out room for improvement regarding additional safety features. The 2025 model of the Iveco S-Way earned two stars, with Euro NCAP citing deficiencies in pedestrian and cyclist protection as the primary reason for the lower score.
