CharterUP has announced a strategic collaboration with autonomous mobility provider HOLON. The aim of the partnership is accelerating deployment of autonomous shuttles within existing public transit systems, providing a viable, scalable framework for organizations looking to integrate autonomous mobility into their fleets.
As part of this agreement, CharterUP plans to incorporate HOLON’s fully integrated autonomous solutions into its existing platform. The partnership will focus on specific use cases — including corporate and university campuses, airports, transit agencies, and municipal environments—where autonomous shuttles will serve as a complement or extension to traditional transportation services.

Technology and Applications: Autonomous Shuttles for Real-World Transit
At the heart of the collaboration is the HOLON urban, a fully electric, SAE Level 4 autonomous shuttle designed specifically for ride-sharing. The vehicle accommodates up to 15 passengers and features a comprehensive sensor suite of LiDAR, radar, and cameras. It is engineered for operation on fixed routes or as an on-demand service, reaching speeds of approximately 37 mph (60 km/h).

Beyond mere pilot testing, the HOLON urban is intended for gradual integration into regular traffic through the CharterUP partnership. CharterUP’s role extends beyond vehicle provision; the company will assist clients with route planning, the management of mixed fleets (comprising both autonomous and human-piloted vehicles), and the long-term transition to fully autonomous operations.
The HOLON urban is set to make its public debut shortly in Hamburg, Germany, as part of the ALIKE project. Starting this year, the project will test SAE Level 4 autonomous ride-pooling services, featuring both the HOLON urban and the Volkswagen ID. Buzz AD.
