LOAD SECURING: Theory and Practice

Every day, approximately 10 million metric tons of goods are transported by road in Germany—quickly, efficiently, on time, door to door, and in an environmentally responsible manner. To ensure that these goods are transported safely and reliably, proper load securing is essential. Inadequate or missing load securing can cause preventable accidents that put people at risk and may result in damage to vehicles and cargo. In addition, improper or missing load securing can significantly increase the severity of damage in the event of an accident. Ensuring appropriate load securing and continuously improving it is therefore a key priority for everyone involved.

With their joint event, “Load Securing: Practical Solutions from Industry Professionals,” which has been held every two years since 2002, the German Road Haulage, Logistics and Disposal Association (BGL) and the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) will once again underscore at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 the importance that both transportation companies and manufacturers of vehicles, trailers, and truck bodies place on load securing. Applying the latest methods for securing and loading goods onto vehicles makes an important contribution to quality assurance in transportation companies and to road safety.
