Transport and logistics on the path to climate-neutral mobility
Commercial vehicles, buses, trailers and bodies – Connectivity with railways, shipping, aircraft, last mile
The IAA Commercial Vehicles is the leading international trade show for climate-neutral transport and logistics, and will be held on the exhibition grounds of Deutsche Messe AG in Hannover from September 20 to 25, 2022.
“The transformation of the automotive industry naturally includes commercial vehicles alongside passenger cars. Therefore, to achieve the climate targets by 2050 at the latest, we also need for commercial vehicles new types of powertrains, a new public infrastructure for filling up and charging, and even more digital connectivity in logistics. The IAA Commercial Vehicles in September 2022 will showcase all the important innovations and new offerings on the path to climate-neutral logistics. This includes commercial vehicles, buses, trailers and bodies, and connectivity with the rail network, with shipping, aircraft and delivery robots for the last mile. Deutsche Messe AG in Hannover remains a very good and committed partner for the new concept,” according to VDA President Hildegard Müller.
“We are delighted to be continuing our successful cooperation in partnership with the VDA for the IAA Commercial Vehicles from 2022 onward. With the new 5G campus network, our exhibition grounds are an excellent venue for all test and live scenarios in transport and logistics. We are certain of increasing interest among the IAA exhibitors and also among the visitors due to the attractive offer,” said Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Managing Board at Deutsche Messe AG.
Concentrating on transport, logistics and intermodality, the IAA Commercial Vehicles will cover all important topics that point to the future. In addition to infrastructure providers and the hi-tech sector, buses in particular will have a greater focus than before. As the volume of traffic is still rising and logistics is becoming more important on the last mile, the new concept will also cover the areas of urban planning and traffic planning. One aspect unites all the topics: if the Paris Climate Goals are to be achieved by 2050 at the latest, logistics must also undergo an extensive transformation, and the necessary conditions for this have to be created now.
The 69th IAA Commercial Vehicles will be shortened to six days and will take place in Hannover from September 20 to 25, 2022. September 19 is an additional exclusive Press and Media Day, and September 20 is dedicated to the opening of the show. In 2020 the IAA Commercial Vehicles was cancelled owing to the corona pandemic. The contract for the following IAA Commercial Vehicles on the grounds of Deutsche Messe AG in Hannover runs until 2028.
