IAA TRANSPORTATION with Theme Day Infrastructure

Berlin, August 25, 2022

Major focus on "Infrastructure" as part of the IAA Conference – in partnership with the Federal Association of Energy and Water Industries (Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft e.V, BDEW) – dense program of national and international speakers

From September 20th to 25th, the IAA TRANSPORTATION in Hanover will present the trends and innovations in the field of commercial vehicles, logistics and transport. An important part of the new event concept are the four theme days as part of the IAA Conference. The third theme day "Infrastructure" will take place in cooperation with the Federal Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW) on September 22nd.

The program of this theme day is as diverse and comprehensive as the topic of infrastructure: the infrastructure for electric charging and hydrogen tanking for commercial vehicles or the energy supply of the future will be discussed, the possibilities of combined transport will be shown, global digital standards in logistics will be discussed or speeches held about the megawatt charging system for heavy commercial vehicles.

The speakers have a national and international background and represent economy, business and politics, such as Dr Sigrid Nikutta , Board Member Freight Transport, Deutsche Bahn AG & CEO, DB Page 1/2 Date 25.08.2022 Contact person: Moritz Krause Spokesperson IAA TRANSPORTATION & IAA MOBILITY +49 175 3260991 [email protected] IAA TRANSPORTATION with Theme Day Infrastructure Major focus on "Infrastructure" as part of the IAA Conference – in partnership with the Federal Association of Energy and Water Industries (Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft e.V, BDEW) – dense program of national and international speakers Cargo AG, Stephan Krenz, Chairman of the Management Board, Die Page 2/2 Autobahn, Andreas Follér, Head of Sustainability, Scania, and many other decision-makers from well-known companies such as Air Products, Amazon Web Services, Robert Bosch GmbH, bp, Linde Hydrogen FuelTech GmbH, Siemens Smart Infrastructure, Ballard or ABB E-mobility.

Andrees Gentzsch, member of the executive board of the Federal Association of Energy and Water Industries (Bundesverband der Energievund Wasserwirtschaft e.V., BDEW), on the joint topic day at the IAA TRANSPORTATION in Hanover: "Several solutions are still in the pace for the drive turnaround in the transport sector, above all battery electric and fuel cell-based commercial vehicles. It remains to be seen where the journey will take us. One thing is certain: In the transport sector, as with passenger cars, there will be a new sector coupling with the energy industry, because it not only supplies the energy required, but also builds the necessary infrastructure."

VDA Managing Director Jürgen Mindel on the joint theme day at the IAA TRANSPORTATION: "We are very pleased that BDEW has agreed to sponsor the 'Infrastructure' theme day. With the theme days at the IAA TRANSPORTATION, we want to discuss opportunities and challenges that concern us across all sectors - such as combined transport or charging infrastructure, a topic that is not only important to the automotive industry. The individual theme days will thus become an important think tank for future dialogue in the transport and logistics industry."

At IAA Conference, part of IAA TRANSPORTATION, the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) is cooperating with leading industry associations to discuss common opportunities and challenges.
