IAA TRANSPORTATION: See the latest innovations on-site

Berlin, August 30, 2022

At IAA TRANSPORTATION, which will be held from 20th to 25th September in Hanover, visitors will be actively involved in trying out everything today that will be transporting people and goods tomorrow – new formats that have been especially designed for this purpose

IAA TRANSPORTATION will be held in Hanover from September 20th to 25th. The largest industry gathering for transport and logistics was conceptually redesigned from the ground up, making it the most advanced platform for buses, commercial vehicles, logistics and transport. Various formats have been developed as part of IAA EXPERIENCES, which will place greater focus on trade visitors being able to see, try out and interact at IAA TRANSPORTATION:

IAA Test Drives

You will be able to try out a total of 22 heavy and 39 light commercial vehicles at IAA Test Drives. All of the testing will be carried out in a climate-neutral manner: nearly 50 of the vehicles are alternatively powered and about 90 per cent of them are purely electric and a good 10 per cent are powered by a fuel cell. The remaining vehicles use renewable diesel fuel. The test drives will start from the new indoor terminal in Hall 11. A test track is available on the site for the test drives. Public roads in Hanover can also be used if the vehicles have a permit. Participating manufacturers include: MAN, Scania, Volvo Trucks, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Ford, Iveco, Brightdrop and Volta Trucks.

IAA Plug & Play Campus

ABB, Eon, Elexon, Mahle, Shell Recharge and Siemens will be demonstrating the latest recharging infrastructures and recharging solutions for the transport and logistics industry in Hall 11. IAA Plug & Play Campus will be implemented for the first time at IAA TRANSPORTATION. The highlight here is that the on-site recharging infrastructure will be connected up and fully functional so that the Test Drive exhibitors will be able to recharge their vehicles on the IAA Plug & Play Campus and visitors will be able to directly find out about recharging processes and see live recharging processes. Naturally, only green electricity is used for recharging. A hydrogen filling station, where the test vehicles can fill up with green hydrogen and a renewable diesel filling station complete the choice.

IAA Last Mile Area

The complexity of logistics over the last mile will be is presented in the IAA Last Mile Area - with a topic-specific exhibition area and talks on the Industry stage on the special theme day to be held on the 21st September and visitors will also be able to find out about urban distribution, innovations and technical challenges at the Industry Forum and listen to expert talks and discussions about developments within the industry. Exhibitors will also be giving live demonstrations of their latest products on the specially created test track. From e-cargo bikes or delivery robots to e-vans and concepts from the Internet-of-things or SaaS platforms. The Last Mile Area in Hall 13 will be the place to be. If you want to know how parcels will arrive emission-free at your doorstep in the future.

A total of 20 exhibitors will be demonstrating their products and solutions in the IAA Last Mile Area and they include Allsafe, DriveU.auto, ElectricBrands, Evum Motors, ZF, Gaius Auto, UPS and what3words.

IAA Cargobike Parcours

Cargo bikes are the ideal transport vehicles to use for last mile deliveries in urban traffic. Cargo bikes are booming in commercial use and are experiencing a huge innovation surge as a result of major development progress. The latest models will be presented by Akkurad, Antric, Kleuster, Mubea, Riese & Müller, Rytle, Urban Arrow, Vowag Cargo Bikes and ZF. Visitors will be able to test them under real conditions in the outdoor area north of Hall 26 - with curb simulations, inclines, slopes and uneven ground.

Guided Tours

Trade visitors will be able to take a guided tour through the IAA TRANSPORTATION exhibition areas twice a day between September 21st and 23rd. Products, innovative solutions and services from a maximum of eight exhibitors will be presented during the Guided Tours. Visitors will be able to choose from buses, lorries, infrastructure or urban topics. The tours will be conducted in English and German.
