Bosch is showcasing tech for software-defined trucks at IAA TRANSPORTATION, DELIVAN is bringing an electric van to IAA TRANSPORTATION, FOTON is unveiling its new European strategy at IAA TRANSPORTATION while introducing new electric and hydrogen vehicles in Hannover, and Cespira will present the next stage of its proven fuel system technology, HPDI™ 3.0, at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 — these are our top stories for week 37 of 2026.

Bosch will present new technologies for software-defined, electrified, and automated commercial vehicles at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026. The portfolio spans from electric and hydrogen-based powertrains to sensors and steering systems, as well as central vehicle computers and digital fleet solutions.
For battery-electric commercial vehicles, Bosch is showing the Rigid eAxle for 18-to-49-ton vehicles. The electric motor and transmission are integrated directly into the rigid axle. This is complemented by silicon carbide inverters with up to 99 percent efficiency and thermal management systems designed for 800-volt architectures. For hydrogen applications, Bosch offers fuel cell systems ranging from 100 to 300 kW, along with components for hydrogen engines.
For driver assistance and automated driving, Bosch is developing the MPC4 multifunctional camera—featuring 20 times the computing power of its predecessor—and the new Generation 7 radar sensor. Both are scheduled for series production in 2027. The ServoE fully electric steering system is built with redundancy to enable automated driving functions and, looking ahead, steer-by-wire capabilities.
Central computing platforms will consolidate functions for the cockpit, vehicle motion, energy, and body control, enabling software updates and digital services. The lineup is rounded out by ETAS solutions for vehicle software and diagnostics, alongside connected applications for driver assistance and fleet management.

DELIVAN plans to present two fully electric production vans for the European market for the first time at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026. Both vehicles represent different sizes within the planned model lineup. In addition, Chery Holding’s new van brand will display four converted variants designed for specialized applications.
According to DELIVAN, these conversions are intended to demonstrate the versatility and customizability of its vehicle platforms. At IAA TRANSPORTATION, the company also plans to announce collaborations with several European conversion partners, including new partnerships in Germany.
This puts upfitting and customization front and center alongside the vehicles themselves. The four variants are meant to showcase a wide range of commercial use cases.
In addition to the vehicles, DELIVAN is unveiling its three business divisions for the first time: DELIVAN PRO, DELIVAN X, and DELIVAN I. These stand for service and uptime, vehicle conversion and customization, and smart fleet technology. Through this setup, the company connects its vans with digital services for vehicle operations. DELIVAN did not disclose further details regarding specific solutions in the announcement.
DELIVAN plans a phased entry into the European market starting in 2027.

Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer FOTON is using IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 in Hannover to outline its continued expansion in Europe. The main highlights of its presence include the company’s new European strategy, battery-electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, and the expansion of its sales, service, and spare parts network.
A major highlight of the showcase at IAA TRANSPORTATION will be the international premiere of the CAVAN BEACON. The smart heavy-duty truck is designed as a platform for various low- and zero-emission powertrain concepts, with plans to offer both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell technology.
In total, FOTON is exhibiting seven vehicles equipped with next-generation powertrain technologies, as well as six in-house developed core components in Hannover. The solutions on display cater to a variety of commercial and freight transport applications across Europe.
FOTON is also using IAA TRANSPORTATION as an opportunity to celebrate the global delivery of its 13-millionth vehicle. At the same time, the company plans to share further details about its upcoming European strategy while in Hannover.
By expanding its product portfolio, sales network, customer service, spare parts supply, and supply chains, FOTON aims to strengthen its long-term presence in the European commercial vehicle market.

Cespira will launch HPDI™ 3.0 at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, the next evolution of its proven fuel-system technology. HPDI 3.0 continues to enable LNG and BioLNG in heavy-duty engines while retaining compression-ignition performance and efficiency.
HPDI 3.0 retains the fundamental operating principle of HPDI while making the system more efficient, simpler, and more adaptable. It introduces a new fuel-pressure management architecture and more precise injection control, with fewer components and seals. Dynamic venting during normal operation has also been eliminated, with venting limited to shutdown. Proven through more than 10,000 trucks and approximately 3.3 billion kilometers of operation, HPDI 3.0 also establishes a stronger technical foundation for dedicated future programs using hydrogen, ethanol, and methanol.
Building on its established use of HPDI, Volvo Trucks will be the first customer to incorporate HPDI 3.0 into its next-generation 13-liter gas engines. Series production is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026, with the first trucks expected on the market in early 2027.
