Iveco Bus has unveiled the Crossway Electric, a fully electric variant of its popular high-floor bus, in France. The new model promises a range of up to 310 miles, achieved through high-energy-density batteries. Specifically designed for intercity travel, the bus offers flexible charging infrastructure that enables fast charging during breaks. With a modular design and a selection of battery sizes, the Crossway Electric is intended for both regional and interregional transport. Thanks to low emissions and quieter operation, it is also touted as a sustainable solution for local transit. The Crossway Electric is set to be manufactured at the Vysoké Mýto plant in the Czech Republic, with a market launch planned for 2025.

After more than a year in the pilot phase, Germany's first bus charger featuring flywheel energy storage has commenced continuous operation. This groundbreaking technology stores energy in rotating masses to release it when necessary, thereby reducing grid load during peak times. In addition to increasing efficiency, the bus charger contributes to cost reduction by optimizing charging times and minimizing wear on the power grid. Experts see this as a crucial step toward integrating electric buses into public transportation on a large scale. The operator plans to test the technology at additional locations and potentially expand it to strengthen infrastructure nationwide.

California-based Telo Motors has unveiled the development of the MT1, a compact electric truck that offers a full-size cargo bed despite its small size. With a base price of $41,500, the truck is primarily designed for urban use. Boasting a range of up to 250 miles, a maximum payload of 1,760 pounds, and efficient charging capabilities, the model targets users who require both flexibility and performance. The innovative design combines space-saving dimensions with the functionality of a larger vehicle, making it ideal for delivery services and contractors. Telo plans to start production by the end of 2025, with initial deliveries shortly thereafter. Industry experts see great potential, as the MT1 fills a previously underserved market niche.
