(c) MAN

A battery-electric MAN eTGX has successfully completed a 3,400-kilometer trip from icy Lapland to the Allianz Arena in Munich, charging exclusively at public charging stations along the way. Despite harsh winter conditions including snow and ice — which required specialized tires with increased rolling resistance — the 32-ton electric truck achieved an average energy consumption of just 117 kWh per 100 kilometers. In milder climates like Denmark and Germany, consumption dropped to around 105 kWh. The eTGX traveled between 400 and 500 kilometers per charge and used a total of 4,500 kWh of electricity. Through regenerative braking and downhill energy recovery, it generated 670 kWh itself, reducing net charging demand to 3,830 kWh.

(c) Daimler Truck

Under the TruckCharge brand, Daimler Truck has announced plans to roll out a semi-public charging network for electric trucks, which aims to become the largest of its kind in Europe. The idea is to open up privately-owned charging stations for shared use, allowing fleet operators to generate additional income while offering customers access to cost-effective charging. Daimler Truck is developing integrated solutions for planning, reservation, booking, and payment. The goal is to install over 3,000 high-power charging points by 2030. The first phase of the semi-public charging network is expected to launch in Q3 2025.

(c) Isuzu

Isuzu Motors has announced plans to develop a battery-electric version of its medium-duty F-Series truck for the North American market. The new vehicle is expected to offer a zero-emissions transport solution for medium-duty fleets and is scheduled to launch in 2027. For the electric drivetrain, Isuzu will collaborate with Accelera, the EV brand of U.S.-based engine manufacturer Cummins. Accelera will supply Isuzu with e-axles, control units, power electronics, and batteries starting in 2027.
