The VW ID. Buzz is receiving a comprehensive update this summer. For the new model season, a new all-wheel-drive variant will be introduced, with the ID. Buzz Pro 4MOTION adopting the powertrain from the ID. Buzz GTX without any modifications. The 210 kW electric motor on the rear axle is complemented by an additional motor on the front axle, bringing the total system output to the familiar 250 kW. The standard wheelbase version of the Buzz is equipped with a battery featuring 79 kWh of net energy content, while the long-wheelbase version comes with the 86 kWh battery.

The standard wheelbase version of the Buzz is equipped with a battery featuring 79 kWh of net energy content, while the long-wheelbase version comes with the 86 kWh battery.
In addition to the all-wheel-drive system and extra power, the ID. Buzz Pro 4MOTION offers a feature that previously left many customers with no choice but to opt for the GTX: compared to the rear-wheel-drive variant, the towing capacity increases by 600 kilograms. This brings it up to 1.8 metric tons for the standard wheelbase and 1.6 metric tons for the long wheelbase. The ID. Buzz GTX, featuring the same powertrain, will remain in the lineup unchanged.
There are also several updates and enhancements to the software. Moving ahead, the ID. Buzz will offer an optional new evolutionary stage of "Travel Assist." Since the system utilizes a vast amount of online data, the name is changing to "Connected Travel Assist." A first for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is the fact that the assistance system for longitudinal and lateral guidance will now also respond to traffic lights. If the system detects a red light, it automatically brakes the ID. Buzz to a complete stop. This is due to the ID. Buzz featuring one-pedal driving now, allowing it to decelerate to a standstill using only recuperation, independent of the assistance system.

Furthermore, the new Innovision infotainment system will be installed. This system integrates a new App Store, through which functions and services can be activated or expanded digitally and flexibly based on the vehicle. Much like a smartphone, popular apps for audio, video streaming, parking, charging, and gaming are available for download. Additionally, the steering wheel will return to using physical buttons instead of the much-criticized touch-sensitive surfaces.
The ID. Buzz will also receive a Vehicle-to-Load function. Using a specific adapter for the charging port, electrical devices can be powered by the drive battery with an output of up to 2.0 kW.
