Could you briefly describe your role at Camozzi and your company’s contribution to the transportation and logistics industry?

I am spearheading the global activities in the TRANSPORTATION sector, which for Camozzi Automation is the business around vehicular built of all kinds. For more than 30 years we are serving our customers in this sector with high quality components like fittings, valves, actuators and customized subsystems mainly in pneumatics.

What does the IAA TRANSPORTATION slogan “We Deliver” mean to you, and how does it reflect your company’s values and goals?

This year’s IAA slogan “We Deliver” is a very nice one, because it fits perfect to our mind set and to a relevant part of our current business activities, which we will also showcase together with one of our partners on this year’s IAA.

Delivering in the sense of TRANSPORTATION means getting goods and people from one place to another. Safely, in time, comfortable and sometimes even in sequence.

Camozzi Automation is supporting the MD/HD commercial vehicle and bus industry with multiple components & solutions for door actuation, automated securing and locking of freight or other essential applications enabling safe and sound TRANSPORTATION. Since some years we are also producing customer specific electronic controllers. This is a product group that allows to be more active in vehicle classes that are not necessarily equipped with a pneumatic system. On IAA 2026 one of our partners shows an automated electric door for delivery vans. Camozzi Automation is supporting this project with a customized ECU.

What are your expectations for IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, and which industry developments would you particularly like to discuss there?

This question perfectly ties into the previous one, as we as Camozzi Automation are putting more and more focus on automation and electrification of functionality on vehicles.

Besides the controller mentioned previously we are showcasing with the same partner the next evolution of an electrified bus door that we presented the first time on IAA 2024, and we are showing, with a second partner, an on-board load weighing device, that helps the operator to monitor and document vehicle weight during daily operations. For us this device is even more interesting, as with components from our portfolio we can generate additional automated functionality with respect to load management.

In which areas do you currently see the greatest potential for innovation, and where do you believe there is still the greatest need for action?

Looking at the standard means of TRANSPORTATION on the road, we will see big steps forward with regards to autonomous operation, automation and connected services.

A dimension which obviously will obtain more attention and for sure will boost in innovation is the “transport” through the air. With all the developments on UAVs we for sure will see an impact also on the TRANSPORTATION sector as we define it today.

With which players in the mobility and logistics industry would you like to engage in dialogue at the IAA, and which shared challenges should be the focus of these discussions?

Our focus is set and consistent. We are cooperating with all business channels from OEM, over 1st and 2nd tiers, to the aftermarket and distribution. In the end the technical solution and the application create the demand, irrespective of position in the supply chain or market approach of the customer.

In your view, what will the transportation and logistics industry look like in 2036, and which technologies will significantly shape this transformation?

As already mentioned, we will for sure see new approaches based on UAVs and drones of all kinds. Reflecting the latest news, pictures and movies of the innovation progress in the field of humanoid robotics and AI in general, it is logic that by 2036 we must expect significant innovation and new models in and of TRANSPORTATION.

What role does artificial intelligence already play in your company today, and where do you see the greatest benefits for the transportation and logistics industry in the future?

Today, it is crucial for every professional company to understand and use AI. I do not think that we can even cover a glimpse of the impact that this technology already has today and will have in the future in this short interview. But besides the standard daily use, we are obviously working the integration of AI in our products. Camozzi Automation offers a wide product portfolio. Starting with a “simple” fitting for connecting pneumatic tubing in an industrial or vehicular environment, up to highly integrated mechatronic components like valve islands or proportional regulators that usually include electronic circuit boards and software.

We are talking about components that can manage and control rather complex and demanding tasks. The integration of AI will impact the performance and the possibilities of the use of these platforms. We are very happy to showcase 2 previews of new products in our proportional and valve island offering.

Which specific challenges faced by your customers are currently the focus of your innovation efforts?

You can imagine that with a very wide coverage of industry sectors, target customers, product platforms and business channels, we are having a very diversified development and product roadmap.

In the end the trigger points from the markets pop up in multiple positions in our activities. Projects or updates because of new requirements for e.g. cybersecurity, the trend towards electrification that creates push for new products in our actuation platform, or simply the general AI boom that creates an enormous demand for new infrastructure, which very positively affects the business growth in other product portfolios and the need for new, innovative products of Camozzi Automation.

Markets change, “we deliver” and work every day for an outstanding customer journey experience.

Because the mission is set: “We are taking you forward!”
