Could you briefly introduce your position and your company?
My name is Jens Sulek, and I lead Capgemini's automotive business in Germany. We don't just accompany the automotive, transportation, and mobility industries through their transformation—we actively help shape it.
Capgemini combines deep industry expertise, technology capability, and execution power. Using data, AI, and digital solutions, we create real value in products, processes, and business models, helping our clients grow faster, more efficiently, and more sustainably.
What does the IAA TRANSPORTATION slogan "We Deliver" mean to you?
To me, "We Deliver" means delivering for those who have to deliver every single day. What matters to our customers isn't the next vision on paper, but real execution that makes an impact. That is precisely where we come in as Capgemini: We bring technology, data, and AI into industrial reality—fast, scalable, and measurable.
"We Deliver" is therefore also our standard: not just advising, but delivering actual results—because that is exactly what we need right now in Germany and Europe.
What do you hope to get out of IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, and what are you looking forward to the most?
The automotive and mobility industry in Europe is under immense pressure. Fierce competition, technological shifts, and new market conditions make one thing clear: the question isn't whether transformation will happen, but how fast.
Above all, I hope to see bold momentum for this transformation come out of IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026. What matters most to me is connecting with manufacturers, OEMs, logistics companies, and tech partners about how they're shaping their future—and how we at Capgemini can translate those ideas into concrete, scalable solutions.
What I'm looking forward to most is hearing directly from the industry's movers and shakers about their real-world AI projects.
In which area of the transport and logistics sector do you see the greatest potential, and where is the greatest need to catch up?
The greatest potential doesn't lie in isolated digital use cases, but rather in a consistent, end-to-end transformation across the entire value chain. AI only reaches its full value when it's deeply integrated into processes, data, and decision-making, operating seamlessly across departmental and corporate boundaries.
This is precisely where the greatest need to catch up lies as well. Many companies already have powerful technologies, valuable data, and clear goals, but too often, seamless connectivity is lacking.
At the same time, other regions—especially Asia and North America—are already further ahead with autonomous and AI-driven mobility solutions. Europe and Germany must therefore establish the right regulatory and infrastructure frameworks to allow innovations to scale more quickly. Only then can we remain internationally competitive and fully tap into the true potential of AI.
IAA TRANSPORTATION is the leading global platform for commercial vehicles, transport, and logistics. It brings together innovators from across the entire mobility spectrum. Who do you want to network with this coming September, and why?
What we are currently seeing in the area of AI and digital innovation is extraordinary. Particularly exciting are the advancements in autonomous driving, AI-powered supply chain optimization, as well as battery, e-drivetrain, and hydrogen technologies.
That is why I am primarily looking to connect with innovators who are driving these developments forward and actively shaping the future of transport and logistics. I am interested in how visions turn into concrete, scalable solutions. This is precisely where Capgemini provides support with industry expertise, technology know-how, and execution power.
The shift toward sustainable solutions in the transport and logistics sector is significant. What is your vision for the transport and logistics industry in 10 years?
Ten years? Even today, we no longer need to pit economic viability against sustainability in transport; we should naturally be thinking of them together.
In my view, the path forward follows three clear steps: First, we must eliminate unnecessary transport. With the help of AI and data-driven decision-making, we can forecast demand more precisely, optimize inventories, and cut down on inefficient transport routes.
Second, we need to seamlessly align the entire value and transport chain. AI can help optimize batch sizes, select the best mode of transport, and manage supply chains far more efficiently.
Third, new technologies like autonomous driving, along with the smart choice of the right energy source—whether battery, hydrogen, or other solutions—will make transport both more sustainable and more economical.
Today, we are laying the groundwork for a massive leap forward: building an industry that responds faster, uses resources more intelligently, and consistently translates innovation into real-world practice.
What has changed the most in your company or industry since IAA TRANSPORTATION 2024?
One thing in particular has changed since 2024: AI has evolved from a future topic into a true accelerator of industrial transformation. The question is no longer whether AI is relevant, but how quickly companies integrate it into their value creation.
At Capgemini, we see this shift every day—in our own ways of working as well as in projects with our clients. Those who act boldly now can redefine productivity, sustainability, and growth all at the same time.
How is AI transforming your company?
AI is transforming Capgemini in a very concrete way, not just in theory. We use AI ourselves—in our processes, in the way we work, and in how we collaborate. Every day is a learning experience as we work with startups, technology partners, global expert teams, and an ever-growing number of AI colleagues.
That is also our message to clients: We don't sell anything that we haven't thoroughly mastered and applied ourselves. AI isn't an isolated tool; it's a change process that brings together people, processes, data, and technology.
What is the single message you would like to share with the industry at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026?
Waiting is not an option. Right now, it's all about consistently bringing technologies like AI into practical application. Whether it's autonomous driving, intelligent supply chains, or more efficient standard processes, AI is becoming the decisive lever for innovation and competitiveness.
Those who act quickly and purposefully will shape the next quantum leap forward. That is precisely where Capgemini comes in: We help companies turn data and AI into scalable solutions that deliver measurable value.
