Could you briefly introduce yourself, your role, and your company?

My name is Carsten Holtrup, I'm Country Manager Germany at T Comm Telematics GmbH. T Comm is a German-Dutch company headquartered in Zoetermeer with an office in Münster, specializing in telematics solutions for trailers and refrigerated vehicles – with a focus on fleet data, temperature monitoring, and supply chain transparency.

What does the IAA TRANSPORTATION slogan “We Deliver” mean to you?

For us, “We Deliver” means: we deliver the data our customers need in order to deliver reliably themselves. Whether it's the temperature history of a cold chain or the location of a trailer – only when this information arrives on time and in a clear format can the actual delivery succeed. Transparency is the precondition for reliability.

What are your expectations for IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, and what are you looking forward to the most?

We're especially looking forward to direct exchanges with fleet operators and logistics providers – to get concrete feedback on our new platform, straight from the users. We're also seeking contact with vehicle and body manufacturers to discuss integration possibilities. For us, the IAA is where technology meets the practical, everyday reality of the industry.

Which specific topics or innovations will you be showcasing at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026?

The centerpiece is the launch of our new T Comm platform with integrated AI. With the new platform, we're taking the presentation of data to the next level – turning it into clear, intuitive dashboards powered by integrated AI.

In which area of the transport and logistics sector do you see the greatest potential, and where is the most urgent need for improvement?

I see the greatest potential in combining sensor technology with AI-driven analysis – for example, in predictive maintenance or in the seamless documentation of cold chains for food and pharmaceutical transport. The biggest catching up to do, on the other hand, lies in basic equipment itself: many fleets are still lagging behind on telematics hardware. Yet telematics is the essential foundation for AI – without consistent, clean data from the field, there's nothing for AI to meaningfully analyze. Anyone not yet fully equipped today is pushing back their entry into the next stage of digitalization.

IAA TRANSPORTATION is the world’s leading platform for commercial vehicles, transport, and logistics, bringing together innovators from every corner of the mobility spectrum. Who are you looking to connect with this coming September, and why?

We're especially interested in vehicle and trailer manufacturers as well as refrigeration unit manufacturers, to integrate our sensor technology more closely. Partnerships with TMS and ERP providers, as well as with telematics providers in the truck segment, are equally important to us, in order to create seamless data flows across the entire transport chain. Shippers in the food and pharmaceutical sectors, who face high documentation and compliance requirements, matter just as much. Common standards only emerge through direct exchange with these partners.

The shift toward sustainable solutions in transport and logistics is massive. What is your vision for the industry 10 years from now?

I expect a fully digital supply chain in which data flows seamlessly from sender to recipient. AI will no longer just support route planning, maintenance, and cold chain monitoring – it will proactively steer them. And CO2 tracking will become as standard a part of every shipment as shipment tracking is today.

Looking back at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, what has been the most significant change within your company or the industry as a whole?

The biggest change has been in expectations around AI: what was once a buzzword has become a concrete requirement. Customers now specifically ask for actionable dashboards rather than raw data. At the same time, regulatory pressure – from supply chain due diligence laws to data protection requirements – has noticeably increased, further fueling demand for seamless documentation.

In what ways is AI transforming your company?

AI is increasingly taking over the analysis of large volumes of sensor data for us – for example, automatically detecting temperature deviations instead of relying on manual checks by the customer. For us, that means less raw data and more actionable, understandable recommendations. That's exactly the core of our new platform.

If you could leave the industry with just one message at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, what would it be?

Data alone creates no value – it only becomes valuable once it's made understandable and usable. Our job as a technology provider is to reduce complexity, not add to it.
