







Tesla Opens Public Megacharger Location with 1.2 MW Charging Capacity

Tesla has opened its first latest-generation public Megacharger station for its Semi electric truck in Bloomington, California. Built on second-generation Megacharger technology, the new site features six charging stalls, each capable of delivering up to 1.2 MW of power.
The company announced the launch across its social media channels. Located on Valley Boulevard in Bloomington, the station expands the public fast-charging network for the Tesla Semi.

Six Charging Stalls with Megawatt Capacity
The new facility is equipped with six Megacharger charging stalls and utilizes second-generation MC2 charging hardware. Unlike the previous MC1 system, which topped out at 750 kW, MC2 supports the industry-standard Megawatt Charging System (MCS).
According to Tesla, the Semi can replenish up to 60 percent of its battery capacity in about 30 minutes at a Megacharger. This allows drivers to add several hundred miles of range during mandatory rest breaks.

New Generation Replaces Previous Site
With the launch of the Bloomington station, a previously listed nearby Megacharger site in Ontario, California, has been removed from Tesla's charging map. That site had two first-generation Megacharger stalls and was previously considered Tesla's first public charging facility for the Semi.
According to a Tesla manager, the new Bloomington facility is the world's first public Megacharger station based on current charging hardware.
Megacharger Network Expansion Planned
Tesla plans to significantly expand its Megacharger network across North America in the coming years. According to previous company statements, over 60 locations are slated to be built in the US first, before expanding the network into Canada.
