Access to More Than 1.2 Million Charging Points
With MICHELIN EV Charge, the tire manufacturer is primarily targeting businesses operating electrified vehicle fleets. The solution aims to simplify public charging by allowing drivers to access different charging networks across Europe using a single charging card and companion app.
The app will allow users to search for charging stations, identify available charging points, and plan trips based on suitable charging options. This is intended to eliminate the need for separate access solutions for different charging networks.
For fleet managers, the service is also designed to provide a centralized overview of charging costs. Michelin highlights transparent pricing, no additional network fees, and negotiated charging rates in certain cases as key features of the offering.
Integration with MyConnectedFleet Combines Charging and Vehicle Data
A key feature of MICHELIN EV Charge is its planned integration with MyConnectedFleet, the existing fleet management system from MICHELIN Connected Fleet.
The platform is designed to combine charging data with vehicle telematics data. This will give fleet operators an overview of distances traveled, energy consumption, battery charge levels, and vehicle charging patterns.
Based on this information, fleet operators will be able to identify particularly expensive charging sessions and receive recommendations for adjusting charging behavior. The goal is to improve fleet energy planning and reduce ongoing operating costs.
