Tires for Long-Haul, Regional, and Urban Transport

Hankook covers a wide range of applications with its commercial vehicle lineup. For long-distance transport, the company will showcase tires from its Smart Line series, while the Smart Flex range focuses on regional transport. The portfolio also features the e-Smart City line, which was developed specifically for electric city buses.

The lineup is rounded out by trailer tires from the Laufenn brand and the Hankook Alphatread retreading offering. New trailer and winter tire products are set to make their debut at IAA TRANSPORTATION, though Hankook has not yet released further details ahead of the event.

Digital Tire Management for Fleets

Beyond the tires themselves, digital services are taking center stage. With Hankook Smart Fleet, the manufacturer is presenting fleet tire management solutions in Hanover. Combined with additional service offerings, these aim to help fleet operators lower their total cost of ownership.

At the same time, Hankook continues to develop its tires to maximize vehicle efficiency. Lower energy consumption plays a key role in reducing operating costs for both conventional and electric commercial vehicles.

Two exhibits from the "Design Innovation Project" offer a glimpse into future technological developments. These include a 3D-printed "Sustainable Concept Tire" and the "WheelBot 2" robotics platform.

Hankook Expands Commercial Tire Production in Europe

Alongside product development, Hankook is expanding its manufacturing capacity in Europe. A new production line for truck and bus tires is being added to its plant in Hungary. According to the company, the line will reach an annual output capacity of up to 800,000 tires.

The commercial vehicle tires manufactured in Hungary going forward are destined for the European market. By producing locally, Hankook aims to shorten transport routes while strengthening its supply chain for European customers.
