World Premiere for Europe's Most Important Trailer Segment

A highlight of the exhibit is a previously closely guarded world premiere for the European 9-ton axle segment. According to BPW, this segment accounts for around 75 percent of all road freight transport, making it the most critical market segment in the trailer sector.

The company says it conducted a comprehensive analysis of the segment and developed a new solution designed to further improve efficiency, payload, ease of servicing, and life-cycle costs. BPW plans to unveil further technical details for the first time at IAA TRANSPORTATION in Hanover.

ECO Air Reaches More Than 200,000 Vehicles

Marking six years on the market, BPW is also taking stock of its ECO Air running gear system. According to the company, more than 200,000 two- and three-axle trailers across Europe have been equipped with the system since its market launch in 2020.

The modular concept is now used in a wide range of vehicle types, including curtain-siders, refrigerated trailers, and construction tippers. Thanks to its modular design with fewer components, ECO Air is built to reduce complexity for vehicle manufacturers while delivering cost benefits for fleet operators.

Connected Running Gear Technology for Predictive Maintenance

With its iC Plus running gear generation, BPW combines running gear technology, telematics, and digital service processes into a connected system. Instead of fixed maintenance intervals, servicing is based on the actual condition of the vehicle.

The system analyzes brake pad wear, braking performance, tire pressure, axle loads, and even road conditions. Using real-time data and algorithms, the goal is to detect maintenance needs early and avoid unplanned downtime.

Within the BPW Group, the open-system platform cargofleet 3 from idem telematics provides the digital foundation. It enables the consolidation of vehicle data from different manufacturers, supporting fleet management, maintenance planning, and regulatory compliance.

HESTAL Expands FlowMaster Portfolio

Aerodynamics is another key focus at the trade fair. HESTAL is presenting the FlowMaster, a retrofit system designed to reduce aerodynamic drag at the rear of the vehicle. For the show, the company is expanding its product range to make the solution available for additional vehicle concepts moving forward.

Visitors to the booth can have their potential fuel savings calculated based on their individual vehicle and operational data.
