Motto of this year's trade event: "Leveraging synergies, creating added value, driving innovation!"

The 5th BME Buyers' Day@IAA TRANSPORTATION will take place on 22 September at the Convention Center of the IAA Hanover. The motto of this year's trade event is: "Leveraging synergies, creating added value, driving innovation!"

The industry is currently facing major difficulties in its supply chains. The situation has been exacerbated by the Russian war in Ukraine. In the automotive sector in particular, there is a need for rethinking in many cases, as the ongoing shortage of raw materials is compounded by other factors such as corona-related staff absences or strikes.

At the 5th BME Buyers' Day@IAA TRANSPORTATION, which will be opened on 22 September by Dr. Helena Melnikov, Managing Director of the German Association of Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics (BME), the association will take a look behind the scenes at selected procurement and supply chain managers from the automotive industry. It also gives participants the opportunity to inspire and benchmark each other and to successfully shape the transformation of the automotive industry by exchanging experiences.

At the one-day symposium, high-ranking representatives from purchasing and supply chain management will speak on the topics of sustainability, gas scarcity, just-in-time logistics and global sourcing. The first keynote will be dedicated to the topic "Sustainability in procurement: leveraging potential, connecting new suppliers, thinking innovation differently".

Since its launch in 2018, the Buyers' Day has been jointly organised by the BME and the VDA. The aim of the partnership is to provide buyers:inside the automotive industry with bundled specialist information and to convey industry-related content.
