IAA Last Mile Area
They cover thousands of kilometers, seemingly effortlessly. Goods and products cross continents, oceans and countries by container ship, airplane or gigaliners. But regardless of whether they come from far or near, the biggest hurdles await them at the end of the supply chain. That's what the last mile is all about.

Innovative solutions for the last mile
Narrow old-town alleys, secluded residential areas or crowded pedestrian zones make problem-free and timely delivery in city centers difficult. In 2019 alone, around 3.65 billion courier and parcel shipments were delivered across Germany. That's twelve million shipments per delivery day. And the trend is upward.
Delivery vehicles from the various service providers have since made their mark on the cityscape in many places. This is not without consequences. Not only does the climate suffer from the increasing volume of vehicles, but so does the flow of traffic.
The transport of goods is largely optimized over long distances - but with the last small stretch of road to the front door, the requirements become more complex: the destination may be difficult to reach, the roads not easily passable. Routes can be fraught with complications, even on foot.
Innovative solutions for last-mile transportation are therefore more in demand than ever.
Climate-neutral delivery to the doorstep
The complexity of logistics on the last mile is depicted by the IAA Last Mile Area - with a topic-specific exhibition area and presentations on the Industry Stage on the theme day all about logistics. Don't miss the dialog around urban distribution, innovations and technical challenges at the Industry Forum and hear the experts discuss developments in the industry. Exhibitors can also demonstrate their latest products in action at the dedicated Test Track.
From e-cargo bikes or delivery robots to parcel drones and concepts from the Internet-of-things or SaaS platforms: The Last Mile Area is the right place for anyone who wants to find out how parcels will arrive at their doorstep without any emissions in the future.
