IAA Voices Conference Special: Interview Linde Hydrogen FuelTech

Dr. Susanne Goldammer, Managing Director for Linde Hydrogen FuelTech GmbH, a 100% affiliate of Linde Engineering, is responsible for the commercialization of Linde’s hydrogen refueling technology.

Imagine you are in a time machine and on your way "back to the future". In which year would you like to get off and why?

Assuming that I can get back to the present and so exciting time of 2022, then I would like to get off in 2030. Most projections into the future today show more concrete assumptions by 2030, at least in Linde. I would like to see which of these becomes reality and whether our expectations are not exceeded, even if it is in the number of hydrogen filling stations.

If you had one superpower that would help you professionally, what would it be?

The first thing that comes to mind is the Marvel world, but that probably doesn't help me professionally. Professionally, I would most likely wish to actually be able to time travel and best of all - to be able to speak all languages.

What trend are you currently following with great interest professionally?

What I find most interesting at the moment is the search for sustainable energy sources and efficient use through circular systems. In my eyes, the greatest possible openness to technology is the key to success here.

What is/was the biggest game changer for you in the logistics or transport industry over the past ten years?

Even if it sounds a bit platitudinous, it's digitalisation - starting with weather and traffic data, GPS positioning, on-board computers, driver assistance systems that are already commonplace for us to automated scheduling, unmanned refuelling of alternative energies, ... and at the end there will be autonomous driving.

What innovation do you currently see internationally as a blueprint on the path to climate neutrality?

From my point of view, all applications that are developed on the basis of green hydrogen. Hydrogen from renewable energy sources is an energy carrier and storage medium and will be an important component of decarbonisation.

What are your hopes for the IAA TRANSPORTATION?

There are so many new trends, ideas, technologies in this subject area. Nowhere else than at the IAA Transportation can I get an overview of them in a short time and make relevant contacts for me and my company.

What are you particularly looking forward to at the IAA Conference?

Meeting people who are interested in the same topics and exchanging ideas with them. Especially after the Corona years, we have a deficit in personal communication, which is what makes innovation and further development possible in the first place. And last but not least, to the great vehicles, clean mobility doesn't mean boring, but also driving fun.
